Meet Jessica!

“15/10 totally recommend! They have been amazing every step of the way. They are always a call, text, or email away. They will go to bat for you if needed! “

Megan is an amazing experienced surrogate who delivered a baby boy for a family in August 2023.

Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?

I loved my first pregnancy, but my husband and I weren’t sure if we actually wanted another child anytime soon. A group of friends and I were actually sitting around playing board games on a Saturday night when someone jokingly said, “You should have someone else’s baby”, HA…. My phone must have been listening to the conversation because the next day my social media was filled with ads for surrogate agencies. My wondering mine went into a deep dive looking at A LOT of companies when I found FSC, and their reviews were amazing.

Of course, thinking about this pulled on my heartstrings because it took my husband and I 8 years and lots of medicine to conceive my daughter. I personally struggle to get pregnant naturally, but I carry to term so easily. My heart sank thinking of another woman who literally cannot carry her own child. I know the crying feeling of just wanting to start or complete your family. So when I thought I was bringing a wild idea to my husband, he met me with, “That’s a beautiful, selfless thing you want to do; GO FOR IT. ”

I also wanted to make an important impact in my life, but I never knew what that would be…. But to do something so personal and private for another person without having the world recognize you for something so selfless really hit home for me. Being able to help another struggling woman really has completed my heart and made me feel like I have a purpose. I recommend this to anyone I talk to!

Q. Who was the most significant support person throughout your journey?

My husband and my sister!

Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?

I choose a [incredible] single momma! HA – I loved knowing she didn’t want to wait any longer for a partner to start a family. She’s a super hero by just wanting to do it alone.

Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?

The small highlights are giving those sweet updates after each appointment. These are appointments some women never get to make it to personally. But the biggest highlight is watch them receive their sweet bundle of joy for the first time!

Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?

DO IT. You won’t regret helping someone who is so appreciative of you and what you are doing for them.

Q. How do you feel about your experience working with Family Source Consultants?

15/10 totally recommend! They have been amazing every step of the way. They are always a call, text, or email away. They will go to bat for you if needed!

Q. What did you find was the biggest misconception people had about surrogacy?

I didn’t meet anyone who didn’t actually understand what I was doing. Everyone I came across from my OB’s office, to work, to any outings actually understood and were very interested in the process. I guess the only thing people didn’t understand was that I had to travel to my IP fertility clinic for transfer but that I actually deliver locally with my hospital and OB.

Q. Was this pregnancy different than your other pregnancies? If so, how?

Yes, I had the typical IVF bleeding around 17 weeks due to low laying placenta, which my OB told me was really common. I struggled with my iron/hemoglobin being low, which required infusions prior to birth. Again, my OB said was common for IVF.
