Q: What led you to become a Surrogate?
I decided to become a surrogate because ever since I had my own children, my life has changed for the better. It was a dream come true. I had a best friend / family member complete a journey and ever since then I knew it was something I would LOVE to do for another family.
Q. Who was/is your greatest support person/s throughout your journey?
My husband was definitely my rock for this journey, every step of the way he was involved and there for me.
Q. What made you decide to choose your Intended Parents?
It started with a Skype call, and the instant connection I felt, the positive energy and similar outlook on this journey is what ultimately made me decide to do this with them.
Q. What are some of the highlights of your journey?
The initial med screen and transfer were just the start of highlights. I got to meet the parents and hang out with them for both of those events, along with them visiting a few times before the delivery. Each of those visits / time together helped me realize that my gut had led me to something amazing and I got so excited for them to be parents!
Q. Do you have advice for women who are interested in becoming a gestational surrogate?
Ask questions, never be afraid to want more information! Knowledge is truly power!!! Knowing what was coming, what fellow ssurrogates experiences were helped me beyond belief.
Q. How has becoming a surrogate impacted your life?
Being a surrogate has changed not just my life, but my entire family. We have started hopefully a never ending relationship with our IP’s, that we all adore.
For me personally, it has given me a sense of purpose. Working day to day did not make me feel like I was doing something meaningful. Being a surrogate has given me that joy I yearned.
