We are excited to share with you more about our wonderful staff. Family Source Consultants work with Surrogates and Egg Donors all across the country, as well as Intended Parents in the United States and abroad.

Ronda Blair, Program Coordinator

My name is Ronda Blair and I’m a Program Coordinator for TeamFSC. I’m originally from Chicago, IL and currently live in Joliet, IL.

What brought you to FSC?

I was a Surrogate. When I started my second journey I decided that I wanted to be more involved with Surrogacy. I knew that this last journey couldn’t be my last involvement with Surrogacy. I am currently on my third Surrogacy journey!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is seeing the joy on the Intended Parents faces when they get to see their baby (babies) for the first time. I love to receive pictures of the new family. It is amazing to know that you were with the family from the start to the finish.

What would you say is the most Frequently Asked Question (and answer) from Gestational Surrogates, Egg Donors or Intended Parents?

The most frequently asked questions that I receive are from Surrogates asking about how the process works. I explain to them that they will have their medical screening which typically entails a blood test and a saline sonohystogram (Saline solution inserted in the uterus) to see how their body will accept the embryos. Once she is medically cleared and the contract has been signed then she will start medications. The Surrogate will then have blood and ultrasound tests at a monitoring clinic located locally to them. The Surrogate will typically have 3 of these appointments and then she will have the transfer. Approximately 10 days after that she will have the Beta (pregnancy) test. If the outcome of that is positive, she will have 2 more Beta tests and 3 ultrasounds. Finally, the Surrogate will be released to her OB.

What’s your favorite quote?

“Don’t lose hope. You’re stronger than you think you are.”

Share a secret we don’t know about you!

I used to race cars and I drove motorcycles.  My entire family is involved in the sport of Rugby; everyone except for me plays.  I’m the support person for my family and I help the club out!
