Dawn is having a blast carrying a boy for a couple in Spain! Her family of five leads a very busy life in Davenport, Iowa. A mom of three boys, ages 8,6, and 3, Dawn, coaches high school and club volleyball, runs a juniors beach volleyball program, and is in the process of starting her own property management and design company with a friend. She loves to spend time with her family, bake, play volleyball, work out, travel, and design home renovations. Her husband, Nik, is currently halfway through his doctorate degree and works as a program manager for a jail-based counseling and treatment program for inmates with addiction struggles. A former arena football player, Nik, enjoys teaching the boys how to play various sports, works out daily, loves to play volleyball, and still plays football every once in a while. The boys enjoy playing many sports, building with Legos, playing video games, and watching superhero movies.
Dawn came to FSC through a friend who had carried twins two years ago. Surrogacy is something Dawn has always said she would be willing to do for a friend, as she has pretty easy pregnancies and loves to help others. When they realized that Nik may have to take some time off work to complete his doctorate degree, the couple started thinking about needing to be able to set aside emergency funds in case they were going to be without an income for a period of time. In addition, the couple bought their first home together two years ago and have been renovating every aspect of the once not habitable home ever since. The Surrogacy has helped them to pay for the new roof to complete their renovation and they are now ready to enjoy the fruits of their labor in their beautiful and completed home while Nik pushes forward in his education.
