June is the perfect time of year to visit Chicago and explore all that this incredible city has to offer. This weekend, nearly two dozen gestational surrogates gathered in Chicago to celebrate the creation of families through surrogacy as TeamFSC Surrogates.
The day began with a lovely brunch at Family Source Consultants Chicago office. Several of the surrogates in attendance were familiar with each other through our in-person support groups, but many had connected solely through our online support group. Meeting in person provided a wonderful opportunity to expand current friendships and create new connections.
On to Millenium Park
After brunch, the group made their way to Millennium Park, where they enjoyed visiting iconic landmarks like the Bean and Crown Fountain, an interactive work of public art and video sculpture.
Chicago Architecture Boat Tour
No tour of the city is complete without a boat ride down the Chicago River! Chicago’s architecture is known worldwide – and there’s nothing like seeing it from all three branches of the Chicago River. Departing from Navy Pier, the group was treated to an in-depth architecture tour, featuring Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building, Trump Tower, Marina City and more than 40 Chicago landmarks.
A Chicago Legend
Chicago is the birthplace of deep dish pizza, so we completed our tour of the city with dinner at Pizzeria Due, one of the most celebrated Pizzerias in the world.
Surrogate Sisterhood
The day of sisterhood and celebration is one that will be remembered, as will the impact that these incredible women have made on the families they have helped to build. Over two dozen children have been brought to life through these women alone, with several more on the way in the months to come!
