Meet Egg Donor 1002!

What led you to become an Egg Donor?

I had a friend who had done it before, I’d never actually really ever thought about it. And I feel like it’s not something that’s really broadcasted enough. But after having her explain it to me I did a lot of my own research and thought it would be a beautiful thing to be apart of and help someone. I have always loved helping people but I’ve always tried to find ways to do even more! And this was that for me.

Who was the most significant support person(s) throughout your journey?

I has a very strong support system! Everyone around me was very supportive and open to the idea of me changing someone’s life.

How did you choose which type of egg donation you’d like (closed/open/semi-open)? Why did you choose this type?

I chose closed because after it’s all said and done that is their baby and I feel like I did my part. They are the ones going to love him/her , raise them. I don’t need to be apart of that journey, just helped them get there. But I am also open to being open if the family wanted that but initially I’d rather not .

What advice would you offer to someone who is interested in becoming an egg donor?

Do your research! Find the agency that is best for you and make sure this is a commitment you are willing to make. Take it seriously because someone is depending on you!

Do you know the outcome of your donation? How do you feel about the outcome?

I know that I was able to give my parents 15 potential miracles. I am beyond excited for them; just hearing how much they are “over the moon” excited and grateful for what I was able to do makes me feel giddy every time I think about it.

How do you feel about your experience working with Family Source Consultants?

I had a great experience with Family Source Consultants . The staff was informative and made me feel very comfortable. I also worked with [my case coordinator] for months and she was so amazing and so helpful with anything I needed! They all took really good care of me and [I] would absolutely recommend anyone to them . I hope to be able to donate again through them!

Is there anything else you’d like to share regarding your experience as an egg donor?

Being an egg donor has been a deeply rewarding experience. Knowing that I played a part in helping someone start a family is incredibly fulfilling. I also learned a lot about my own health through the screenings, which was an unexpected benefit.
